Meet the Team
Our services are provided by highly educated licensed professionals with extensive experience in real estate investments and property management. Our Property Managers and Staff are experienced in analysis and are property owners as well.
Our backgrounds have taught us that it’s all about the details, down to the penny. Many property management companies overlook the little details, or ignore what they perceive as burdensome rules and regulations. That’s not our style. These kinds of oversights can, and often do, lead to increased expense and liability for property owners. We pride ourselves on the attention we pay to details, which sets us apart.
Doug Shepherd is the owner / broker of Shepherd Realty Group, CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Champions and President of Outlook Escrow Inc.
Doug’s real estate sales industry career has spanned over 40 years. Starting in 1983 in Torrance California as a sales associate for a small independent company he worked to become one of the top salespeople in a large regional firm. In the late ’80, Doug became managing partner of Veteran Housing Center in Riverside and went on to obtain his broker license in 1991. Over the years he has owned and managed several real estate sale and marketing firms. Establishing Shepherd Realty Group in 1995 with one sales associate he grew the firm to one of the top firms in the area. Adding property management services in 2000. In 2003 Outlook escrow started doing business as an independent real estate settlement company. In 2022 Doug acquired the Better Homes and Gardens franchise office in Riverside. As Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Champions the firm is now the largest BHG office in Southern California. He continues to list and sell real estate everyday with a personal career sales volume of over $150 Million and almost 1000 personal closed sides.
Doug is very involved in his industry, community. His volunteer work includes being an Adult Leader in Boy Scouts of America and working with church youth programs. Professional involvement includes serving on the “Mayor’s Realtor Task Force” and “At Home in Riverside”. Doug has served on the board of directors of the Fair Housing Council of Riverside County and the Civil Rights Institute of Southern California. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Meals on Wheels Riverside. In addition to leadership positions in the California and National Association of Realtors he has served his local Association in many capacities and is now the current President of the Inland Valleys Association of Realtors.
Mike Pirkey has been with SRG for over 20 years and has been our Senior Property Manager since 2008. Mike has extensive knowledge of local property owner/tenant law and keeps our contracts in compliance for our property owners. He also acts as property manager for Riverside and San Bernardino properties.
With over a decade in the real estate industry, Lauren has accumulated a real estate background through many facets including, residential and multifamily spec development, luxury residential sales and leasing. While Lauren initially started working under the family name, she then branched out to Los Angeles where she then worked under major luxury residential teams with home buyers and sellers and eventually spec developers and investors of single family and multifamily residential properties.
Today, Lauren has rejoined SRG Property Management as Associate Broker, Property Manager and partner mainly focusing on the Los Angeles and Orange County markets.
